| Description: |
The four-week elective in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine provides fourth year medical students with an immersive and rigorous introduction to the specialty. The educational experience will comprise daily clinical activities in the operating room, reading assignments, and multimedia. There will be exposure to most anesthetic specialties, including obstetric anesthesia, cardiac anesthesia, pediatric anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and pain management. An end-of-rotation written or oral exam is required. Outstanding performance on the end-of-rotation exam is required to earn "Honors". |

Students are encouraged to join the CA-1 anesthesiology residents during their didactic sessions on Thursdays, 12:45-4:45PM. Grand Rounds Thursday 7-8am. |
